LenDale White 2008 Topps NFL Football Card
Good old LenDale White. LenDale was a big part of those early USC teams with Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart. After college, LenDale was a tank at running back for the Titans for a fairly short amount of time. As a kid I thought he was going to be the next Jerome Bettis. He was a Titan from 2006-2009. He ran for 1,100 yards in 2007 and then in 2008 he rushed for 15 touchdowns. Fairly underrated even amongst Titans fans I feel.
On this day seventeen years ago in 2007, White had one of the best games of his career from a yardage standpoint. He totaled 141 yards from scrimmage, and was the entire Titans offense against Oakland that day.
This is a fairly normal card, but I think there's some warping going on around LenDale to an extent, I actually like it. It makes this uniquely mine.
The 2007 Titans were an interesting bunch. they didn't win a Super Bowl and they weren't even huge contenders, but it was a solid season. They are underappreciated/forgotten amongst Titans fans because of how well the team did the following season.
The '07 Titans team featured a great defense with players like Albert Haynesworth, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Keith Bulluck and Michael Griffin. Vince Young and LenDale White held it down on offense and the team just gritted their way to a solid 10-6 season where they made the playoffs. They lost to the Chargers in the Wild Card round but yeah, all in all a decent year. That year was sort of a taste of what could have been with Vince Young had he developed more.
The big movie out in theaters when LenDale was running through the Raiders, October 28th 2007, was Saw IV (4 for those of you that don't know Roman numerals well).
I couldn't tell you the difference between most of these movies, LOL. But they are pretty good when you're in the mood for some adrenaline. Happy Halloween!
