76ers lose to the Pelicans Friday... | Sixers in Orlando tonight
The Sixers AND playoff football? Pretty good deal.
The Sixers lost to the Pelicans, one of the worst teams in the league, on Friday. Ugh. Embiid and Drummond were both out again. It's just been a rough year and while I think if everyone could just stay healthy things would be different, it really doesn't matter. Games are passing by and the Sixers seem stuck on 'figuring it out' mode. Both big men are probably out again, but it's anyone's guess at this point who is going to play night in and night out. I actually feel bad for head coach Nick Nurse trying to manage the roster.
The Sixers are down south in Orlando tonight and while the Sixers did see the Magic fairly recently, the Magic look quite different. Different, but still winning, they currently sit as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference. BOTH Wagner brothers are out and in their place is rising superstar Paolo Banchero. Banchero was out last time the Sixers played the Magic. Pretty crazy how the magic have the luxury of just swapping out talent like that.
The Sixers begin a brutal stretch of basketball starting tonight against the Magic. Then the Sixers face the Thunder, Knicks, Pacers, Bucks, Nuggets and Cavs. Top seeds, top records, former champs and MVPs all over the place. Not great. The Sixers currently sit at 15-21 and own the eleventh seed. This stretch of basketball is going to be big for the Sixers. The big three must play a lot or the season could be over if they have a massive losing streak. Even a medium losing streak really.
Let's see how it goes tonight.
