The Relevance Of Course Of Study In Digital Era

Technology advancement has turned a lot of things around within our society. The use of technology has really made life much easier. I remember years back, libraries were mostly used by students to source academic material but things have turned around, we now have e-library and other academic websites which make learning much more easier compared to before.

The recurrent advancement in technology has rendered some skills and courses irrelevant. In recent times, the number of people visiting libraries has reduced drastically which has rendered librarians jobless. Irrespective of these challenges, many people still go ahead to study courses that are becoming irrelevant within our society. One of the courses includes library studies, forestry, and lots more. The question is how many functional libraries do we have in the country to accommodate such people when they graduate, likewise how many forests do we have in Nigeria for those who study forestry to practice their skills?

Many youths had become depressed and frustrated when they cannot get a place to practice their course of study, it's really disheartening, when a student who spent 4years studying a course at the university only realizes after many years that such a course of study is obsolete

The issue many students have is that many are always anxious to gain admission into the university without considering the course being given. As long they've gained admission they believe their problem is solved, only for them to graduate and later become jobless.
It's really important to look into the future when considering any course of study. This will help to save any future stress.

I remember some years back, a friend of mine was given wildlife management. In Nigeria, Such a course is not relevant. He considered the future of the course and decided not to accept the admission. Many of his friends condemned him for his actions yet he stood on his decision of not accepting the admission. The following year he applied again and was given pharmacy as a course of study. He was so happy that he never gave up.

The sincere truth is that to become relevant in this era of technology, We need to develop ourselves to current trends. We need to give ourselves to learning regularly. Learn and develop new skills that's the key👌. People in tech are really making it big time in this era. Many of this tech course can be learned online, the exciting part is that most of this online courses posses certification which of great advantage.

In life, we tends to learn daily, that's the way to progress. I have seen series of people who gave themselves to learning irrespective of the course they studies and they are doing well in life. Some are into data analysis, digital marketing, Product design and more.

In a country like Nigeria, Value is placed to be more important. What value can you offer ? What problem can you solve? This is highly important in workplace. The kind of value you offer, will dictate how relevant you are. It is important to give room for learning. This will enhance the value we offer to people.

Heheheh, I remember during my days in NCE, I never visited the library till I graduated. I had no need for it because I had all I needed on my phone. Even during my project, I made research on my phone and PC. It's so pathetic how some people are losing their jobs due to this advancement.

Yes, that happens often. Many qualified professionals are out of work or doing cleaning jobs.
