You may agree with me in the fact that many women -I'm not going to generalize- unfairly value ourselves by the cost of our shoes or our bags, although, I'm not going to immolate myself and tell you that I don't like a nice, elegant, fine or practical bag.

The truth is that if I could choose one of these categories I would always be of the team of women who love practical bags, because an expensive bag if I don't find it functional will die of ignorance in my closet.

Back, what is true is that bags represent us, and we have transformed them in such a way that they are adapted to all our needs because they carry most of the things we think we might need at any given moment in our lives.

If a man decides one day to look through his wife's purse, I assure you that he could be in for some surprises, maybe even be astonished by some details that he totally ignores about her, what is real is that the contents will vary according to the temperament, insight, and thinking of each one of us.

Inside it are placed each of the intimate and urgent needs of a woman who feels that all her existential affairs are protected.

How many times have we arrived at a place pressured by immediacy and loneliness, and the greatest support we feel is the embrace of our faithful handbag that stoically resists the pressure of our nerves and insecurities?

What can I carry in my bag?

Wait a minute - the truth is that I don't even remember - let me check.

My bag has three departments, and I put there little by little without stopping everything I think I might need that day, sometimes they remain inside for long winter and summer seasons, and I can even forget them unconsciously, but if another day they are needed I have the absolute certainty that they are still exactly where I put them, and that has saved me many times from uncomfortable situations because I have the blessed bad habit of keeping and keeping inside everything I consider important and transcendental.

I confess to you that I can be disastrous and boring.

Here it is:

In the outside pocket house keys, pills, pens, notes on small pieces of paper, coins, loose bills, small information memos....

In the inner center compartment: a small bible, gift from someone (?)
And between both parts of the center, work papers, comb, powder case, lipstick, toilet paper, toothpaste, dental floss, sunscreen, deodorant cream, a hand fan, a small towel, my sunglasses, my charger, my cell phone, a pair of headphones, ID cards from my work, small nylon jars .... and a manual on equivalences between units of measurement (🤯) that I don't remember why it's there.

I'm sorry to have disappointed you, but that's what I usually carry at this age of fifty.
Women's bags are really very personalized, many prefer to add small colorful scarves, cute little dolls, flirty ribbons, colorful fluffy key rings, portions of antibacterial creams ....

But, inside is the best part: some people have a hidden place where they hide inopportune secrets, spaces for memories that you don't want to let go, little things in case you need them again one day, and sometimes, a cemetery of candy wrappers and sweets that you preferred to keep before throwing them out in the street because you are ashamed of all the ones you see lying around, and also, why not? an object that gives you some kind of personal security.

Sometimes it takes me a while to rethink the order inside, but as they are all necessary and practical -most of them, almost always- the only process they undergo is the replacement by a new reservoir that fulfills the same functionality.

Our bags are our day-to-day spiritual fortresses, the perfect shields to feel that we walk with the confidence that any unexpected event that occurs outside the plan will be supported by the emerging objects that accompany us inside and that defend at all times qa necessary touch-up, a lock of hair out of place, an unexpected accident, a hit of sweat that surprises you, that your smile is always noticed clean and impeccable, and that even if a man thinks that carrying a bag is an exhausting and unnecessary act for us is the perfect reason to recharge us as the beautiful and cautious woman we always want to be.
