Unexpected Encounters, A Trip Full of Coincidences
Imagine travelling to an unknown continent and encountering situations that seem to be taken out of a film. That's what I experienced on my only European adventure, where strange coincidences became the protagonists of my trip.
From the beginning, my trip was marked by unexpected twists and turns. My arrival in Europe did not go exactly as I had planned. An unfortunate robbery and a bomb threat that led me to vacate a museum added a touch of unwanted excitement. However, it was at the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa where I encountered a startling scene: the Tower was closed to the public due to a tragic incident, a girl had jumped off. Luckily, I was browsing the little craft market to buy a few souvenirs, so I miss the terrible incident. Needless to say, I was of course unable to climb, as after that incident the tower was closed until the girl's body was removed.
Despite these initial challenges, the real magic of my trip revealed itself through chance encounters with friends in unexpected places. The first flash of coincidence took place in Paris. As I was taking the infallible tour of Notre Dame, I bumped into friends who were also vacationing in the same city. Surprise brought us together, but unfortunately they were on a different tour, and we were not able to exchange much more than greetings.
But The series of amazing encounters continued in Rome, where we met again in the heart of the Vatican, it turns out that this time we took the same tour (what are the chances?), it was as if fate was playing a game of meeting us in the strangest places. That night we had the opportunity to have dinner and a few beers, it was a great experience to meet them so far from home.
But the story doesn't end there. We met again in Madrid, but this time it was after agreeing in Rome that we would meet again in the Spanish capital. And it was precisely in Madrid where another strange encounter took place, while I was taking pictures in the Plaza Mayor I heard someone calling me, when I turned around it turned out that another friend, also from Mexico, was in that place. At that time we were working together, but we never talked about meeting on that trip, since he was supposed to go somewhere else, but in the end we ended up in the same city. By coincidence, we decided to explore Morocco on an impromptu trip, which was without a doubt one of the strangest experiences I had on that trip.
I have no idea what the odds are of meeting acquaintances so far from home during a holiday, but one thing is for sure: my trip through Europe was filled with moments that defy logic. These coincidences, as strange as they were, became fun and exciting memories of my trip. So, if you ever find yourself on a trip and think about doing something crazy because you are far from home, think twice, because coincidences do exist, and you never know who you might meet along the way, hahahaha.
This has been my participation for the #weekend-engagement. WEEK 168, on the theme The strangest coincidence that has happened to you
Happy weekend to all of you.
Thank you very much for reading, see you in the comments
Wow! That's quite a lot of coincidences! It must have been fun to run into all those people, and I imagine you could have done without some of the excitement. A bomb threat?! My goodness.
We had a lot of fun together, when we returned to Mexico we did other trips within the country because we enjoyed traveling together.
The bomb thing was crazy, but luckily it was false alarm 😅
It makes me feel alive to rest, to be with my family and to be able to build my home little by little, as well as to have a job where I feel fulfilled.
