Hola, amigos de #geekzone, hoy voy a compartir con ustedes una reseña/gameplay del juego TMNT Shredder's Revenge. Como les mencioné en una publicación anterior, este es un juego estilo Beat'em up, basado en la serie de las tortugas ninja de los años 80, es multiplataforma, así que lo pueden encontrar para todas las consolas actuales (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch), computadoras (Windows, Linux) y también existe una versión para teléfonos móviles iOS y Android, es en esta última plataforma en la que yo lo he estado jugando.

En el primer gameplay les compartí como habían sido mis inicios en este juego y hoy justamente vengo a despedirme de él con este video del jefe final. En líneas generales es bastante divertido, las peleas son muy entretenidas y el hecho de que tenga modo multijugador le da un atractivo extra. Hay dos modos de jugar, el modo historia y el arcade, en este último lo que hacemos es recorrer la historia como si estuviéramos jugando en un maquinita de arcade, es decir, tenemos vidas limitadas, no podemos elegir la dificultad y lo mejor de todo, debemos acabarnos todo el juego en una sola pasada. El que yo acabo de finalizar es el modo historia en la dificultad normal (hay una más sencilla y una más difícil).

Niveles

En total son 16 niveles, incluyendo el del jefe final,13 de ellos transcurren en la ciudad de Nueva York, mientras que los otros tres tienen como escenario la Dimensión X. En cada nivel hay logros, coleccionables y misiones que nos van a ir sumando puntos para subir de nivel al personaje con el que estemos jugando, esto nos otorga la posibilidad de comenzar con más vidas y de desbloquear el modo Radical, que es una especie de power up momentáneo. Todos los niveles culminan enfrentándonos a un minijefe que liga la historia al siguiente capítulo.

En la mayoría de los niveles el desplazamiento es a pie, corremos, saltamos y todo lo normal que se hace en este tipo de juegos, sin embargo, existen hay dos niveles en los que vamos montados en unas patinetas flotantes, estos para mí fueron los más difíciles, ya que no solamente debemos enfrentarnos a los enemigos, sino que también nos encontramos obstáculos en el camino que debemos esquivar rápidamente y a mí la verdad eso no se me da muy bien. El nivel final es el número 16 y en este no hacemos nada más que enfrentarnos a dos jefes: Statue of Tyranny y Super Shredder.

Jefes finales

Como les mencioné anteriormente en el último nivel nos enfrentamos a dos jefes, el primero es Statue of Tyranny, que no es más que la estatua de la libertad mecanizada y controlada por Krang, este jefe es bastante sencillo y como todos los jefes todo recae en aprenderse los patrones de ataques, en realidad no hace demasiado daño y si nos acercamos lo suficiente podemos acabar con ella realmente rápido. Hay un punto en el que llegan otros villanos, pero son fáciles de derrotar e incluso podemos agarrarlos y aventarlos hacia la estatua y así matar dos pájaros de un tiro.

Si hacemos todo bien terminaremos con el primer jefe rápido y más vale que lo hagamos bien, porque si dejamos que nos baje demasiado la vida cuando lleguemos a la siguiente parte del nivel vamos a sufrir, ya que en el camino no hay forma de curarse (a menos que jueguen con otro amigo y choquen manos para compartir salud). Una vez que derrotamos a la Statue of Tyranny una animación nos lleva al que verdaderamente es el final boss Super Shredder.

Debo aceptar que la primera vez que pasé este nivel me pareció bastante difícil, sin embargo, en este que es mi tercer intento lo sentí mucho más sencillo, el secreto, además de aprenderse el patrón, es no dejar que la estatua nos baje demasiada vida y tener mucha paciencia. Shredder no es un jefe al que podamos derrotar pegándole a lo loco como la estatua, hay que esperar.

Su patrón de ataque es sencillo, pero mientras está en modo activo es invulnerable a todos nuestros golpes, así que debemos esperar al momento en el que cae de rodillas "agotado" para poder hacerle daño, en lo que llega ese momento lo único que podemos hacer es esquivar y si es posible, cargar superataques. Cuando baja de la mitad de la vida empiezan a aparecer unas "sombras" que debemos derrotar una tras otra para volver a hacerlo vulnerable, es algo bastante mecánico, pero con paciencia se puede lograr fácilmente.

Una vez que lo derrotamos comienza una cinemática donde vemos a nuestros héroes en su guarida, comiendo pizza y viendo las noticias de cómo la ciudad poco a poco comienza a volver a la normalidad.

Opinión

Es un juego bastante divertido, visualmente me gustó mucho porque tiene una estética retro que me hizo recordar a la caricatura y al antiguo TMNT: Turtles in Time. La acción es muy buena y las peleas son lo suficientemente interesantes para mantenernos pegados al juego por un buen raro. Lamentablemente, es un juego extremadamente corto, son solo 16 niveles, incluyendo el del jefe final, en el que solo se combate con los dos jefes y listo.

Al principio pensé que al ser un port la versión que nos había llegado a los móviles era más corta, pero después de haber averiguado un poco me di cuenta de que es igual para las versiones de consolas y PC, esto me parece bastante desafortunado. Por suerte en Android el juego es completamente gratis para los usuarios de Netflix, así que bueno, no me quejo, por lo menos no pagué para jugarlo en alguna consola.

Quitando el detalle de su duración es un bastante entretenido y lo recomiendo totalmente si les gusta este tipo de juegos. Yo por mi parte todavía no decido si intentar alcanzar todos los logros o ya de plano desinstalarlo, quién sabe, quizás un día me aviente un long-gameplay y les traiga el modo arcade completo.

We face the final bosses | TMNT: Shredder's Revenge

Hello #geekzone friends, today I'm going to share with you a review/gameplay of the game TMNT Shredder's Revenge. As I mentioned in a previous post, this is a Beat'em up style game, based on the ninja turtles series from the 80's, it is multiplatform, so you can find it for all current consoles (Xbox, PS4, PS5, Switch), computers (Windows, Linux) and there is also a version for iOS and Android cell phones, it is on this last platform that I have been playing it.

In the first gameplay I shared with you how my beginnings in this game had been and today I come to say goodbye to it with this video of the final boss. In general it is quite fun, the fights are very entertaining and the fact that it has a multiplayer mode gives it an extra attraction. There are two modes to play, story mode and arcade, in the latter what we do is to go through the story as if we were playing in an arcade machine, that is, we have limited lives, we can not choose the difficulty and best of all, we must finish the whole game in a single pass. The one I just finished is the story mode on normal difficulty (there is an easier and a harder one).

Levels

There are 16 levels in total, including the final boss level,13 of them take place in New York City, while the other three are set in Dimension X. In each level there are achievements, collectibles and missions that will add points to level up the character with which we are playing, this gives us the possibility to start with more lives and unlock the Radical mode, which is a kind of momentary power up. All levels culminate facing a mini-boss that links the story to the next chapter.

In most of the levels the displacement is on foot, we run, jump and everything normal in this type of game, however, there are two levels in which we ride on floating skateboards, these for me were the most difficult, as not only must we face the enemies, but we also find obstacles in the way that we must dodge quickly and to me the truth that I'm not very good at it. The final level is number 16 and in this one we do nothing more than face two bosses: Statue of Tyranny and Super Shredder.

Final bosses

As I mentioned to you earlier in the last level we face two bosses, the first one is Statue of Tyranny, which is nothing more than the statue of liberty mechanized and controlled by Krang, this boss is pretty simple and like all bosses everything falls on learning the attack patterns, it doesn't really do too much damage and if we get close enough we can finish her off really fast. There is a point where other villains arrive, but they are easy to defeat and we can even grab them and throw them towards the statue and kill two birds with one stone.

If we do everything right we will finish the first boss quickly and we better do it right, because if we let our health drop too low when we get to the next part of the level we are going to suffer, as there is no way to heal on the way (unless you play with another friend and shake hands to share health). Once we defeat the Statue of Tyranny an animation takes us to what is truly the final boss Super Shredder.

I must accept that the first time I passed this level I found it quite difficult, however, in this which is my third attempt I felt it much easier, the secret, in addition to learning the pattern, is not to let the statue take us down too much life and have a lot of patience. Shredder is not a boss that we can defeat by hitting him like the statue, you have to wait.

His attack pattern is simple, but while he is in active mode he is invulnerable to all our hits, so we must wait for the moment when he falls to his knees "exhausted" to be able to hurt him, while that moment arrives the only thing we can do is dodge and if possible, charge super attacks. When he gets below half of his life, some "shadows" start to appear that we must defeat one after another to make him vulnerable again, it is something quite mechanical, but with patience it can be easily achieved.

Once we defeat it starts a cinematic where we see our heroes in their lair, eating pizza and watching the news of how the city gradually begins to return to normal.

Opinion

It's a pretty fun game, visually I really liked it because it has a retro aesthetic that reminded me of the cartoon and the old TMNT: Turtles in Time. The action is very good and the fights are interesting enough to keep us glued to the game for a good rare. Unfortunately, it's an extremely short game, there are only 16 levels, including the final boss level, where you just fight the two bosses and that's it.

At first I thought that being a port the version that had reached us on mobile was shorter, but after having found out a little I realized that it is the same for the console and PC versions, this seems to me quite unfortunate. Luckily on Android the game is completely free for Netflix users, so well, I'm not complaining, at least I didn't pay to play it on some console.

The game is quite entertaining and I totally recommend it if you like this kind of games. I for one still haven't decided whether to try to reach all the achievements or just uninstall it, who knows, maybe one day I'll try a long-gameplay and bring you the complete arcade mode.
