Which should I choose, rural or urban areas?
Hello friends. This happens to be the last contest for this week. I wish everyone a happy weekend and a blessed contest.
As we all know, it is easier for one to be tempted to choose the city to the village. Most people will prefer city. But I want to look at it from both sides. The city is very good, but the village too is not left behind. By the time you have tasted both city and village, then you can make a good choice. I am going to be sharing my own experiences of both city and village life. Hope you will enjoy every bit of it?
Since when I was a kid I have always desired to live in the city. The first time I came to the city and saw light everywhere I was so happy and I never wanted to go back to my village. In the village where I lived, we had no electricity and good road. No hospital and no good water, so when I saw all of these in the city, it felt like I have seen heaven. I immediately feel in love with the city. But now I know better. I have lived in the city for more than thirty years. I have seen all that it can offer. The city has a lot to offer one that is the undeniable truth. But what about the disadvantages of living in the city?
Though I live in the city, but if I am given the opportunity I will relocate to a quiet place. Maybe a village or so, instead of going through all the troubles of the city, I did prefer to live in the village and stay out of some of the troubles that comes with the city.
This image belongs to me.
Presently, I am already making plans on how to relocate to more peaceful, quiet place. Because when you look around the city, you will notice that there is always one problem or another. Ranging from political crises, kidnappings, theft, accident in the high ways and the list is on ending.
Secondly, you will have to pay for everything you use. The only thing that we don't pay for it in the cities where we live is the air that we breath. Maybe the time for that is still coming. Because the way things are going now, one day we will be asked to pay for the air that we breath. In Jos where I grow up, terrorist and kidnappers have made the place so fearful for me that I can't ever dream of going back to live in Jos.
But in the village unlike the city, the life there is peaceful. Most people living in the villages don't pay the house rent, because is either you are living in your father's house or you are living in your own house. Even when there is no power supply, people don't get to worry too much. You have your garden at the back of your house. That means you don't get to buy vegetables. And other items you will be using in the village.
In summary, both rural and urban area is good, but they all come with their side effects. As it is now, I prefer the village life to that of the city.
This post is made in response to the hive learners contest for week 51 edition 3
Village life is sweet my dear...I lived there for 19 years before coming to the city. City is really nice as well with so much to offer but has it's disadvantages too as you mentioned. I think I love both ...
So we will be doing swapping, one month in the village and one month in the city. Hahaha 😄.

wow, that's really terrible if your village doesn't have electricity, thanks and it will make it difficult for us to go back there and thank God I always have electricity in my area, keep up the enthusiasm for carrying out the activity and success for the content friends
Thanks dear. You know that was in the past. Most villages have electricity now.
Thanks for hopping in.
Both options are good and it totally depends on what the person wants. These days, a lot of rural areas are getting developed and they now have access to basic amenities like water, hospitals and even electricity. So, a person who is looking for a quiet life can stay in the rural area but the urban areas have more opportunities
Thanks for adding your voice.
