¡Hola! Saludos a todos en esta comunidad, amantes de los animales. Esta es la primera vez que comparto con ustedes acerca de mis mascotas; y en esta oportunidad, les hablaré acerca de mi cerdito (ya grande) que tiene por nombre “Pato”.

Sí, sé que su nombre es confuso; pero primero les contaré cómo llegó a mí.

Hello! Greetings to all in this community, animal lovers. This is the first time I share with you about my pets; and this time, I will tell you about my little pig (already big) whose name is “Duck”.

Mi papá trabaja en una granja cuidando a los animales, entre ellos hay: caballos, vacas, toros, gallinas y perros. Cerca de donde él trabaja también hay otras granjas, y allí hizo amigos. Uno de sus amigos le regaló un cerdo a comienzos del año, en agradecimiento a la ayuda que siempre le brindaba.

Pero como mi papá no podía tenerlo en su trabajo, decidió traerlo a casa para que yo lo cuidara. Y sé que fue un viaje estresado, porque para llegar a mi casa el animal tuvo que recorrer 6 horas, pasando por tres estados diferentes del país. Desde entonces, Pato ha estado conmigo comiendo y creciendo.

My dad works on a farm taking care of the animals, including: horses, cows, bulls, chickens and dogs. Near where he works there are also other farms, and he made friends there. One of his friends gave him a pig at the beginning of the year, in gratitude for the help he always gave him.

But since my dad couldn't have him at work, he decided to bring the pig home for me to take care of. And I know it was a stressful trip, because to get to my house the animal had to travel 6 hours, passing through three different states of the country. Since then, Pato has been with me eating and growing.

Desde que llegó, Pato es muy travieso: no le gustaba mucho estar en su corral, se escapaba constantemente y se comía todas las plantas que se encontraba. Además, al cerdito no le gustaba estar solo, y encontró en mi perro Max (del cual te contaré en otra publicación) un compañero para jugar en todo momento.

Una de sus peculiares características, es que cuando lo vamos a bañar, Pato se acuesta en el suelo para dejar que toda el agua corra por su cuerpo; y le gusta mucho cuando le lavan sus patas.

Since he arrived, Pato has been very mischievous: he didn't like being in his pen very much, he constantly escaped and ate all the plants he found. In addition, the little pig did not like to be alone, and he found in my dog ​​Max (which I will tell you about in another post) a companion to play with at all times.

One of its peculiar characteristics is that when we go to bathe him, Pato lies down on the ground to let all the water run through his body; and he really likes it when his paws are washed.

Otra cosa interesante de mi cerdito, es que le encanta comer frutas (mayormente papaya, mango, plátano, sandía y guayaba); pero odia las verduras, algo extraño en estos animales. Aun así, nada de eso es impedimento para mantener un peso ideal y una tierna figura.

Another interesting thing about my little pig is that he loves to eat fruits (mostly papaya, mango, banana, watermelon and guava); but he hates vegetables, something strange in these animals. Even so, none of this is an impediment to maintaining an ideal weight and a tender figure.

an interesting choice of pet! i was expecting Pato to be those tiny pot bellied pigs but he seems bigger than that haha 😄 thank you for sharing about your wonderful experience in taking care of him!

Que adorable es Pato, se ve que está encariñado contigo. Parece un perrito, parece mentira, pero a esos cerditos se le hace cariño y ellos se apegan a las personas que se lo hacen, tal como lo hace un perro o un gato.
