A healthy relationship is where you take and receive. You can't be taking all the time and expect to achieve a balanced relationship. Unfortunately, many people choose relationships based on what they can benefit from, not what they can give. I am referring to professional relationships and general friendships.
Most of your colleagues at work or in your neighbourhood will not buy from your business, but they will only come to you when they are stranded and need help. I had a certain lady when her land had documentation issues, she came to me and I helped her with all my strength and even with my cash.
A few months later, one of her cousins who lived abroad needed 2 plots of land for purchase, documentation, and construction.
This lady was on my WhatsApp contact and viewed my status daily but she didn't call for business.
Unfortunately for her, the person she called for the job was my friend and I used to handle land documentation for him.
I responded to the call from the guy and proceeded to meet him, and I saw the lady with him. She was quite embarrassed, and I told her that she shouldn't feel bad about doing what she thought was best.
Relationship Investment Is Crucial
People should learn to invest in relationships. We call it connections. You can't just pick up your phone and call for help if you have never offered help.
For the past years, I have been working on creating strong networks with my friends in different countries. Some people I have met and some we have never met.

Try very hard to create good relationships and avoid at any cost to create enemies. When there is any dispute between you and anyone, try to settle it in a manner that is 50/50. Don't always seek to win in every situation.
Don't always seek to be the last man standing. Not every battle is worth fighting. Some issues turn a blind eye. Not every event you should give an opinion.
Avoid being involved in scandals. It takes years to build a reputation, but it takes seconds to lose it. Trade carefully.
You can't buy respect, and you can't demand it. Respect is earned.
Never take pride in receiving, rather, take pride in giving. Think about what you can do for others, not what others can do for you. This is a strong concept that will help you to produce more than you can consume. If you wait to be given, you will produce nothing.
I have very prominent people that I know, If they recognize a missed call from me, they will call back, because they know I hardly ask for anything from them, I call when I have something that benefits us all. One-way relationships will never give you value.
In conclusion, we need others to survive, you cannot survive in isolation. Build a good relationship with others.
