Make your life better – Smile
After more than 5 years on Hive, it's sometimes difficult to find topics to write about. I don't want to write stuff just for the sake of writing or of earning some hive through upvotes. When I write, I really want to give an added value to the reader.
I'm reading a lot of books and with every book, I learn new things that I tend to remember a couple of weeks before I kind of forget them. I decided to kind of remember these things by writing posts about them. Thanks to Hive, I can come back to these posts and remember the great things I've learned. I also believe that if these things matter to me, they might matter to other people as well.
We all want to make our lives better
Are you happy with your life? If you are or are not, you certainly always want to make your life a little bit better. Some small things can make a big difference in this respect. Today, I would like to show you how smiling will improve your life and the life of the people around you...
Smile – it doesn't cost anything
You probably know this feeling. You get up in the morning and you start to think about all the things that need to be done, about the issues that are worrying you, about the conflicts with other people, about the problems of the world and more. Unfortunately, all these thoughts are rather negative and they often prime you for the day.
People who met you, will see all these thoughts on your face and they will recognize the same state that they are in. Let's say both of you probably will not be smiling. Worst case any interaction might end up in a conflict because you just needed a little bit more ngegativity to explode.
You will agree with me that it's not so much fun to live your days like that. A smile can change that.
Cheat yourself
When I don't feel so well, I try to cheat myself. I go in front of the mirror and I force myself to smile for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Scientific experiments have shown that smiling actually produces hormones that will make you feel happier. In addition to that, a lot of muscles are triggered when you smile and the smile sets in after forcing myself like that.
Smile to everybody
Whenever I meet somebody, I try to do so with a smile on my face. I don't always manage I have to admit but I try and I realize that over time, people start to smile back at me. I often go to a restaurant to have a coffee next to my house. People working there are somewhat dull and are rather down, not enjoying their work much. But each time, I come, I see a smile forming on their face and they greet me. I get the smile back from them and we both feel a bit better from our mutual smiling.
The great thing is that whenever there is a kind of action in the restaurant, they will be sure to inform me and I would thank them a lot for their attention.
Smiling doesn't cost anything but it can make the life of the others a little bit better. When you smile to somebody, you show them that they matter to you. You will get these smiles back in return and you will feel better as well.
It's something very easy to do and I promise it works. Try it out, make your life better by smiling every day!

Great topic. We should make smile but I think sometimes we became frustrated and even if I talk about myself, I don't want to talk to anyone, that's the point where we should overcome our emotions and frustration and don't let feel others that you are not happy. No one cares your mood , You should give yourself first priority and keep yourself mentally calm and relaxed. Let the things settled on its own. Be smile and relaxed.
It's like a vicious circle. You feel bad, you look frustrated. People want to avoid you and you feel even worse. Putting on a smile on our face can change this dynamic.
Haha this is both interesting and funny at the same time! ;)

Those little things make good changes.
I remember form my last job, My boss always come to each of our seat just to say hello and I still remembered him.
I think we remember people better if they are kind with us :-)
I agree that we should try to smile more! I would like to complement one thing as well, not only smile always when meeting someone but say 'hello' as well. Maybe for you it's evident, but for a lot of people it apparently isn't.
When I look at myself, I didn't do it to strangers until a moment soleone did it to me on the bike. It kind of touched me in such a way that since that moment on, I'll always try to say hello, even to people I don't know at all.
You are totally right. If you can add a hello, or even better a hello with the name of the person, you will make their day :-)
Sometimes smiling is really hard for me. I can't have a fake smile. I prefer to keep busy when the demons come to me, that is my best therapy.
I have some of these days when smiling seems impossible. Then I really force myself and often I can keep the smile for quite a long time :-)
Smiling in the mirror is something that I do a lot.
I just love to smile at myself and make myself feel good
That's one thing I do most...
I saw this in a documentary and decided to try it. It feels a bit stupid at first but it really works for me :-)
I have never really cared too much about smiling but I guess it does make sense. I agree that it doesn't help anyone to see that you are unhappy or angry. The frustration doesn't really help people much and I tend to prefer to listen or play things that make me happy instead.
Smilling can brighten your day and the day of the people around us. In addition smiling provides some hormones in our body that make us feel positive :-)
This is really a huge reminder. thanks for dropping this
You are welcome
You have definitely made it a fact that what to post here daily is something that people think about all day long and it has been a long time since you have been working on this platform for five years. I have been working on this platform in the same way because it is a very interesting platform to talk to new people and learn a lot of new things.
Finding subjects for new posts isn't always easy especially when you are on hive for a long time already.
Yeah you are right. I totally agree with you.
Have you ever smiled till your face cramped up? 😜 Happened only once in my life - on my wedding day.
Funny you would say that because I had smile cramps on my wedding day as well lolol
Love the topic. It's so timely. It also made me smile more. Thank you for this. I hope it inspires more to wear their best smile every day. Happy #thankfulThursday :D
