Comparing online experiment tool: lab.js and jsPsych

avatar

This is a comparison between lab.js and jsPsych. Both are tools based on JavaScript that can be used for online experiments.

The biggest difference is that lab.js requires little or no coding. It has a Builder at https://labjs.felixhenninger.com/. It is not difficult to learn, but it can be quite limited in its functionality.

On the other hand, jsPsych is pretty versatile as it can be coded to customise to one's requirements.

Having gone through the initial tutorial it offers, it seems pretty easy to pick up.

They even have videos: https://www.jspsych.org/7.3/tutorials/video-tutorials/

Overall, jsPsych can be a better investment of time if one wants to learn it compared to lab.js.
