Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: A Guide to a Newbie
Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge. I am thrilled to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. This week we have a new topic where users are encouraged to write and share a tutorial or guide to help newbies on the Splinterlands game. I would submit my entry to that here in this post.
This week, our topic is sharing a tutorial about creating a free-to-play account on the Splinterlands game. As we all know, the Splinterlands game is built on the Hive blockchain, and as such, before you can start playing the game, you need to have an account on the Hive blockchain first. Creating an account on the Hive platform is a must, after which you follow the steps below to start playing the Splinterlands game.
First of all, you will have to visit the website and click on get started. To start earning while playing you will have to buy a spellbook that gives you access to earn from the game. If you would like to go by the free-to-play method, you can sign up using your Hive account and start playing for free.
Once, you are signed in, you can visit the battles section and start playing but the best advice I will give is rather navigate to the practice section where you can start learning how to play the game. In there, you will have access to knowing the all the rulesets and abilities in the game. The practice section has all the necessary guidelines one needs to advance playing in the game.
There are several ways of earning in the game as I explained earlier in last week's post, another rewards system is the earning of the Glints in the game which can be used in the Glint Shop to purchase several collectibles and bounties such as Cards, Potions, Chests, and Merits.
When you join as a newbie, you probably don't have DEC to rent cards but there is a delegation option in the game where players can delegate some of their cards to you which you can use freely in battling. You should note that as a free-to-play user, you have some limitations like earning from the rewards pool. You don't earn the Glints, SPS, or DEC rewards because you haven't bought the spellbook.
The last thing I would talk about is the Guild system in the game. It is a very great feature or option in the game which I love most and I am glad to be a member of a guild just a few weeks after joining the game. It is quite not easy to get a Guild as a newbie but the trick is just to master the rules of the game and believe me, there would be Guild Masters in your dm looking for you.
This is a little hint or guide next week we will explore more. Thank you all for your time and attention while reading my post.
