My World Will Come
“Will tomorrow ever come to pass?” Monica kept wondering as she sat beside the river bank gazing at the meandering flow of water. She has been in a covered world looking at her old self instead of looking at the new days ahead. A lady had told her that there is always tomorrow and tomorrow. Her thought about tomorrow was her future, but what the woman referred to was what she could not capture.

“Babe!!! What are you thinking of?” Anita, who has been a good friend of Monica, asked.
“Well, it's nothing”, Monica replied.
“I don't think so. Seeing you with the way you are behaving, it's quite unusual” Anita was wondering about her friend's mood.
“OK, I was just wondering about so many happenings”, Monica said.
*Like what?” Anita asked in anticipation.
“I was just wondering, as I always see things happening without coming to an end. Just today, I thought of settling down with my dream husband. Although, I have been having this thought since I became a marriageable age”, Monica said, as she was just having this feeling of staying at home too long.
Meanwhile, Anita kept gazing at her friend and waiting for her to give her a tangible reply on why she was behaving this way.
“I know you are keen to know more about my mood”, Monica just tried to take some words which were true from her friend's mind.
“As if you knew what I was thinking," Anita replied.
“To be sincere, I was thinking of my life and decided to ask myself a question which I guess has no answer”, Monica said.
“OK!! I'm listening to you. Just voice out and tell me the question that kept you thinking”, Anita replied again.
“Don't you think we are getting older?” Monica asked a question out of curiosity.
“Of course, but this is out of what we are discussing right now”, Anita replied while resting her head on her hands sitting beside her friend on the river bank.
“It is the question that led me to this unraveling question”, Monica said, being too sure of herself.
“Now, I want to hear the question “, Anita said.
“Just answer my question, don't you think we are getting older and without a man coming our way?” Monica said again,
“Alright then, you are right. We are getting older hoping for tomorrow to come yet, it's not forthcoming”, Anita said while using her friend's question to answer the unraveling question.
“Well, you just said the same word that kept ringing in my head”, Monica smiled, looking at the meandering movement of the water.
“Will tomorrow ever come?” Monica asked that same question that had been lingering in her head.
“Hmm…. To be sincere, you have said it all. I think it's time for us to leave our parent's house or leave our shell just to look for someone who will like us for real”, Anita was so serious while saying it.
“Samuel has been disturbing you for some time now. Didn't you agree to his proposal?” Monica asked out of curiosity.
“Well, I saw him with another woman. Who will accept that character from a man?” Anita replied.
“This is why I said tomorrow will never come,” Monica replied.
Samuel has been one man who women were falling for. He had talked to Anita some time ago, but she refused to give him a reply, instead wanting to give him time to study his nature and character. She studied him and finally caught Samuel with a woman, caressing the woman in a small cubicle inside the town hall.
“What a shameless human being,” Anita murmured.
“Did you say something?” Monica asked.
“Samuel made me detest being with a man”, Anita replied.
As they were talking, Anita raised her head just to gaze at the sky unknowingly to her, she slipped off and was drawing down the river helplessly. Monica began to shout for help. Before he could say the last “help”, Samuel surfaced from nowhere and rushed just to catch Anita. Before he could run to the river bank, she had already fallen into the river. Meanwhile, Anita knew nothing about swimming. Samuel jumped and went after her.
Monica was just showing where she was, “My friend has fallen”.
Samuel grabbed Anita and drew her close to his body. He held her closer and looked at her face. “I have waited so long after that incident to talk to you. I love you so much and do not want to lose you”, Samuel murmured to someone unconscious.
He brought her out of the river and laid her flat on the floor. He pressed her stomach just for water to gush out of her mouth. After some time, Anita began to cough and revived.
“All thanks to Samuel for saving your life”, Monica said.
“Thank you, Samuel”, Anita said.
“Your words filtered into my ears while I was in that water”, Samuel was shocked to have heard that from Anita.
“I have also missed you”, Monica began to look at Anita as she was saying those words.
“Wow, now I know that tomorrow will someday come, but it will take time”, Monica murmured.
“Your tomorrow has come to reality, my friend”, Monica said.
“I think he has changed since he was able to make those statements while saving me”, Anita replied.
“Your tomorrow has come, my friend. I'm waiting for mine”, Monica said.
“Yours will get to you soon”, Anita replied as she rested her head on Samuel’s shoulder.
I hope they find happily ever after with each other.
So Samuel and Anita later got to meet up and settle things. That's nice. I wish them good luck
They settled thing and became one.
Sometimes it may seen as though our lives would be a mess because things aren't going as planned but the universe always has an interesting twist along the line.
You are right.
Wow ooo, this seems to be interesting, I wonder what could have happened if Anita didn't slip up.
It set a clear image of her tomorrow.
