Goverment And Medical Check-Up

(Edited)

Check up is something so great in life and something that can make one know his or her health status. There was a time similar topic was brought out and I said in that write up that I hate going for check up even though it is a good idea. My husband, on the other hand, has not been going for a check-up as well. All he kept saying is that “I am not sick”. I also have this same mindset which I don't know when to end it.

I have also seen so many people who don't go for check up and do have this same mindset of nothing was wrong with them, but the end was not a better story to be told.

A neighbor who went for a medical check just a few days again was held in the hospital. She was asked to remain in the hospital until she's better. I don't know the kind of sickness they might have detected, but she left healthy, according to her. So, this is the major reason we just have to visit the hospital for a check-up, even if it is once every month or once every year or every two months. It's the best.

There is one major reason people hate going to the hospital for a check-up, which I felt there is need to government intervention. They complain of not having enough money to visit the clinic or hospital. The question that kept lingering in their mind would be that “what if they discovered an illness, how are my going to cater for the bills?” The poor cannot afford to go for a medical check, but the rich do. There was a time when the government announced a free medical check up in my locality, nearly everyone in the town packed themselves to the venue. This is the type of person we have. They cannot be blamed as the money to go for a check-up would be on the high side.

The truth is, if the government should make it a point of duty for everyone to visit the hospital for a medical check and can be able to pass it as a law, this would help. It would make people to struggle harder, as no one wants to fall into the hands of the law. Placing a jail term would not sound right, but placing a fine which would be remitted to the government pause would be better. When a fine which may equate the check-up bills is involved, everyone who is due for it would not want to pay free money to the government, instead would want to spend it on their health.

The little money we have is got from good health, but when we fail to visit the hospital for a check-up, then the hospital will take it out from us by force. The most people today detect their sickness through a medical check up. The only good thing we humans should do is to visit the clinic or hospital for a medical checkup. This is necessary just for survival’s sake.

I just have the belief that when the government is involved, check up would be a problem for most of us, although there may be some stupid excuses being Nigerian. I trust my people when it comes to things like this.

Legislation of check up would be a good thing in saving people from health challenges as early detection is key.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
