A life of a Working Student
Hi, fellas. I am here today to share to you my life as a working student. "Never give up," is my motto in life. I know most of us used it as their own motto. Yes, there will be times that it came into my mind to give up. The fact that I exhausted from my hectic schedule. But, as I realized I am where I am today and it is a long run that I should continue.
I am a student in the evening. Since, my class always started at 5:30pm onwards. But, it doesn't end there. Mostly our class will end at exactly or pass 8:30pm. Before I got home, it will took an hour to arrive. I will have my dinner and then I will hold my sewing machine to help my grandmother. So, my income is different from her. If she gains PHP500 for each blouse, then for mine is Php30. Yes, it doesn't a lot but it really helps my school expenses. Sometimes I don't any income but sometimes I do. So, it depends on luck if I will have customers. It took me 15 minutes of each pair. Most of the time, I finished it at 3-4am.
After I finished my works, I will sleep for a couple of hour then continue with my other job. You read it right, another job. Since my dream course is to become either an architecture, an engineer, or a lawyer, I decided to accept projects from other students. I write poems, I draw, and sometimes do electrical projects and design houses. Today, I will share to you one of the projects that I made.
I know someone who studies mechanical in a well known university. At first, I was quite hesitant to accept it. Yet, there is a circumstances in which I really need the money. So, I grabbed the opportunity.
As you can see, behind these photos was the struggle I overcome, sleepless nights, and exhaustions from how will I finish the project. At first, I wasn't able to think of: how will I start the project?, what materials should I use?, and If I will finish it on time? Those are just the questions I asked myself. I was given a 4 days to finished the project. So, I don't know when to insert my schedule of making with the schedules that I have already. But, all throughout the process and with the help of God, who gives me strength to finish all the tasks. I have a few regrets since, I didn't asked for a suited price. But, I asked for a price which she could voluntarily give. Then, she gave me 200 pesos. Yet, at the end of the day it would always be: It's okay, the important thing is that, I have helped a fellow student.
It's just that, if I were to take my dream course then instead of holding a pen and paper to do my visual aids, speaking in front of my classmates for some demonstrations, then I am holding something that an architecture or engineering student holds.
Btw, here's the finished product.
