DON CHICKEN - KOREA BRAND FOOD
Don Chicken is a famous Korean fried chicken brand with a strong Korean flavor. I visited this restaurant at Lotte Mall Tay Ho.
It is said that Don Chicken draws inspiration from the image of the knight Don Quixote in the great work "Don Quixote of La Mancha". But what's even more interesting, the name Don Chicken epitomizes the determination to bring delicious meals to customers, akin to the courage and steadfastness of the character in the story.
With over 300 stores in Korea and more than 100 branches in other countries such as China, Thailand, and Vietnam, Don Chicken is gradually asserting its position on the international culinary map.
In Vietnam, Don Chicken has gradually affirmed its brand with the first appearance in Hanoi in 2016. Currently, the Don Chicken system has 11 restaurants in the northern region of Vietnam, and this fried chicken chain makes young people crazy.
When visiting Don Chicken Vietnam, chicken is always the top choice you should try. With a diverse and enticing menu featuring ingredients sourced from 100% fresh chicken and sauces imported entirely from Korea, it promises to bring you enjoyable and delicious moments. The space is decorated quite simply and gently with white and yellow colors. They focus more on the taste of food. The menu includes dishes such as: fried chicken thighs, fried chicken wings, Hallymayo fried chicken, boneless fried chicken, sweet and sour fried chicken, soy sauce fried chicken, cheese fried chicken, special sauce fried chicken, mixed soup unjeongbu, mixed bacon soup, seaweed soup, cheese tteok bokki noodles, french fries, honey fries, cheese fries, fries with green pepper sauce, fruit salad with cheese sauce, salad Cajun chicken, rice mixed with vegetables, rice mixed with beef, rice mixed with chicken, kimchi soup,... the menu is 100% standard Korean dishes
Below are the flavors of some of the dishes I ordered:
- Honey-glazed fries: The fries were wonderfully crispy yet not overwhelming, perfectly golden and crunchy, with a generous coating of rich, sweet, and fragrant honey evenly spread on top.
- Fruit cheese salad: In any meal, vegetables play an essential role, particularly after consuming chicken. At times, you might feel a bit overwhelmed or parched, and that's when a refreshing salad comes in handy. The salads served here are a delightful blend of greens and fruits, generously coated with a creamy dressing and served chilled.
- Deep-fried chicken and sweet and sour fried chicken, the meat was tender and sweet, the outer layer crispy, and the chicken fresh without any off-putting taste
- The chicken mushroom pizza was made with mushrooms, chicken, olives, tomatoes, with a diameter of 23 cm. The crust was golden and crispy, topped with flavorful chicken and a rich layer of cheese.
- When it came to Korean cuisine, it was impossible not to mention rice cakes, also known as Tteokbokki with cheese: soft rice cakes soaked in sweet and spicy Korean-style sauce, served with creamy cheese and boiled eggs.
Drinks include soju, roasted rice water, jeju water, mojito water,... prices range from $5 to $13 for 1 plate. The price is quite expensive for Vietnamese people. If 2 people want to eat a full meal, they need to spend about $150 per person. I recommend ordering combos to make them cheaper, not ordering individual dishes like mine.
- Some combos for 2 people on the menu you can try: (priced at $13 for 2 people)
Combo 1: 1 pizza + 1 salad + 2 drinks
Combo 2: 1 pizza + 1 French fries + 2 drinks (
Combo 3: 1 pizza + 2 fried chicken thighs + 2 drinks
Combo for groups of 3-4 people (cost about $20)
Combo 1: 1 pizza + 1 half regular fried chicken + 1 salad + 3 drinks
Combo 2: 1 pizza + 1 mixed vermicelli + 1 salad + 3 drinks
Combo 3: 1 pizza + 1 fried chicken + 1 french fries + 3 drinks.
